Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 June 2026

connect-browser ("the extension") lets AI assistants you explicitly connect (such as ChatGPT or Claude) view and control your browser through a cloud relay at connect-browser.com. This policy explains what the extension accesses, what is transmitted, and what is stored.

What the extension can access

Only when a connected AI assistant invokes a capability you have enabled, the extension may:

Each capability has an on/off toggle in the extension popup. Disabled capabilities are refused both by the extension and by the relay.

What is transmitted, and to whom

To fulfill a request, the relevant result (for example a screenshot or page text) is sent over an encrypted connection (wss/HTTPS) through the connect-browser relay to the AI assistant you connected. Consequently, the AI provider you chose (e.g. OpenAI or Anthropic) receives the data needed to answer your request, governed by that provider's own privacy policy. Data is sent only in response to a tool call from a session you authorized.

What we store

The relay is stateless by design. It does not persist your page content or screenshots — they are passed through and discarded. The relay keeps only ephemeral routing data: a device-to-server mapping, a short pairing code, and short-lived OAuth tokens that bind your AI session to your device. Operational logs record tool names and a device identifier, never page contents.

What we do not do

Your controls

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS. Access is bound to your device using OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and scoped, expiring tokens, so no other party can reach your browser through the relay.

Children

connect-browser is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.

connect-browser is a tool that connects AI assistants to your own browser at your request. You remain in control of which capabilities are enabled and which assistants are connected.
